If you've ever found that booking truly luxurious pet friendly accommodation in the heart of London is something of a challenge, we have good news for you – your frustrations are at an end.
The Milestone Hotel regularly attracts more than its fair share of critical acclaim - it was recently voted best hotel for service in the entire world by Travel and Leisure magazine, and Best Hotel in the British Isles by readers of Condé Nast Traveler. But it is also winning much praise from pet owners for the warm welcome it extends to their four legged companions.

The imaginative staff are constantly looking for thoughtful ways to make every guest feel more at home and have created a unique package to ensure your favourite friend has the time of its life. Head Concierge, Jim Cameron, and his capable team, go out of their way to see that your pet’s needs are catered for in every way imaginable.
When you make a booking be sure to mention that your pet will be travelling with you - the hotel will forward you their special “Pet Preference Form” so you can let them know any particular likes and dislikes. On arrival your pet will receive a tailor made welcome hamper, which includes a toy, a treat, a Milestone tag and clean-up bags. It also contains a welcome letter from Jim Cameron with information on all our special pet services available, plus all his unique travel tips to make your stay enjoyable.

Once in your room you’ll discover a custom-made Milestone Hotel pet bed, cushions and duvets. Floor mats are also provided along with “Do Not Disturb/Pet Sleeping” card, food and water bowl with fresh mineral water and an in-house Pet Menu Turndown Treat.
As well as these complimentary pet-friendly extras the Concierge Team also provides a comprehensive range of services. Dog sitting and dog walking can be booked 24 hours in advance. Grooming is available as well as bathrobes, leashes, litter boxes, and a taxi service. Treats, toys and menus for dogs and cats are also available and staff will even arrange birthday celebrations. Local pet store details are provided, as well as maps of nearby parks and walks. There’s even dog and cat first aid kits, plus details of local vets and emergency services. Finally, they even have pet travel podcasts for you to listen to – produced by esteemed travel journalist Roger Collis they are a mine of usefulinformation.
But what of two legged guests like yourself – why is the Milestone so popular that many return as many as fifty times? The magnificent fusion of 19th century architecture with stunning contemporary style and décor is part of the reason. Then there’s the ideal location, in the exclusively affluent Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. But the real secret is that award winning service.
Of course you are made to feel welcome and cared for. But it goes further – much further. Your butler will provide a personal tour of all the facilities, introduce you to key members of staff, and explain all the features of your room. He’ll provide a complimentary drink of your choice, then offer to unpack. There’s even a fully stocked stationery drawer, including scissors for cutting the labels off your shopping! This is just one example of the passionate focus on anticipating your every possible need. Then there’s the scented candles, freshly cut flowers, and,

at bedtime, the handmade sweets, personal reading light and weather forecast for tomorrow you find on your pillow – you are constantly surprised and charmed by the host of thoughtful little touches. Regular guests are also impressed that staff build up a unique understanding of their personal preferences, from their choice of pillows to how crispy they like their bacon!

With two members of staff for every guest, and each one constantly looking for little ways to make you feel extra special, and extra welcome, it’s easy to see why The Milestone is voted number one in the world!
Each of the deluxe guest rooms and superb suites has been individually designed and decorated. The colours are rich and warm, there are custom-made fabrics, antique furnishings, and numerous original artworks. Many rooms and suites have magnificent views over Kensington Gardens…but all are filled with individual character and charm.
You can dine anywhere you choose, at any time, on whatever takes your fancy – English High Tea, with all the traditional trimmings in the Lounge, a light snack in the chic Conservatory, nibbles and cocktail in the split level Stables Bar, a romantic midnight feast in bed, a delicious picnic hamper in the park ….or the full fine dining experience in Cheneston’s Restaurant. The team of eleven chefs prepare everything by hand, creating a fine international cuisine with an accent on modern British dishes. They balance their exuberant creativity with more homely comfort foods using locally sourced produce. From the Beluga Caviar to the freshly baked rolls, and from the three different table salts to the four types of butter, the experience is truly exceptional. The wine cellar boasts over 400 fine vintages, most personally chosen by our Head Sommelier.
If you need to work up an appetite the Milestone Hotel has all the facilities you require. There’s a gorgeous resistance pool, luxurious spa and fully equipped gym to refresh and rejuvenate you. If you want to stretch your legs the best of London is on the doorstep - Kensington to your left, Knightsbridge to your right and Kensington Gardens directly opposite. Nearby attractions include the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial, the Science Museum with its hands-on fun, the Natural History Museum with its amazing Dinosaur exhibits, and the Victoria & Albert Museum with its magnificent collections of art and design. Equally close is Harvey Nichols, and the world famous Harrods. Antique collectors love Kensington Church Street – there’s over 60 dealers offering everything from Chippendale furniture to impressionist paintings.

So, whether you have two legs or four, the Milestone Hotel is about as good as it gets. As part of the Red Carnation Collection it is a wonderful example of the group’s philosophy that "No request is too large, no detail is too small". The only downside is that once you and your pet have experienced it for yourselves, anywhere else is likely to be something of a disappointment!
